In Years 7, 8 and 9 pupils are taught in broadly banded subject sets. This means that children of a similar ability are taught together in a group. This allows for intervention if pupils require extra support. Information from Primary schools, together with data such as reading test scores, allows us to make an informed decision as to where to place each pupil.
