MFL Department - KS3 Resources All pupils at Culverhay study French at KS3. They are taught in sets according to ability. At the beginning of Year 8, the top set begins to learn Spanish as well, while the remainder continue with French. At the end of KS3, pupils who have studied both languages may choose which one to study for GCSE. Boys have the option of taking both languages. We have become an Asset Languages School this year, so our next major development will be to introduce the Languages Ladder into KS3.
