Music Department - Instrumental Lessons

A wide variety of instrumental lessons are offered at Culverhay in partnership with the Bath and Northeast Somerset County Music Service. A fee of £66 is charged for 10 lessons, one of the lowest in the county.  Where finance can be an obstacle to pupils having instrumental lessons the department operates a ‘Musical Opportunities Fund’, which is used to partially fund the cost of lessons.

All pupils are encouraged to take advantage of instrumental tuition and any type of lessons can be requested from piano to accordion to electric guitar. Currently, over 10% of pupils undertake tuition.  Some do this for personal interest, whereas others study for instrumental qualifications eg Trinity, Guildhall and Associated Board.
